Every Wednesday night from 7:30pm til 9pm there's 'Drop-In' style Floor hockey at Chapman Hill.  The cost is $3/player.

Durango United Win 'Arizona Desert Classic'

The Durango United men's hockey team (Pat Moores, Dave Hytinen, Wade Riggs, Cramer Hickey, Geoff Kent, Steve Martin, Steve Spriggs, Trapper Niccum, Mike Parker, Jake Walsh, and Trevor Griego) recently won the annual 'Arizona Desert Classic' Tournament in AZ over Memorial Day weekend.  The team beat the Orange County Blues 7-4 in their opening game, then fell 4-3 to Simi Valley Shoreline (featuring current NCAA D1 player Chris Margott) in their 2nd game.  An 8-3 win in game #3 over Phoenix Molson put the United in 2nd place in their 6-team bracket.  Their overall 2-1 record earned them a spot in the 2 vs 3 Semi-final game against the same Orange Country Blues they defeated in game 1.  The 2nd game was tougher than the first, but United prevailed and for their efforts landed a spot in the Finals against the Simi Valley Shoreline team they lost to earlier in the tourny.  The finals went much better for the United, as they beat Simi Valley 6-4, winning their first out of state title since winning in Phoenix in 2006. In addition to winning the tournament, the following players won individual honors for their play:  Dave Hytinen - Most Valuable Player, Pat Moores - "All Tournament Team", Cramer Hickey - "All Tournament Team".  For more info, stats, pics, etc on the Durango United, check out the tournament's website here.
